CHANDIGARH, Aug. 22 — Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh has received multiple threat calls and messages over the past few days from unidentified numbers, according to sources.
Officials said the threats were made through both voice calls and WhatsApp messages on a phone number linked to Aulakh’s management team. “The caller spoke in Punjabi,” one source said, adding that the matter is now being examined.
Police confirmed they have not yet received a formal complaint from the singer or his representatives. “We are verifying the numbers from which the calls were made,” a senior officer noted.
Aulakh has previously reported receiving threats from gangsters, raising concerns about his security. The recent incident has once again put the focus on threats faced by Punjabi artists.
