Chandigarh, July 19: The Punjab administration has confirmed that all remaining eligible applicants under the Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana will receive their pending financial transfers at the start of August. Speaking at a large cultural gathering in Pathankot, Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated that the ongoing cash transfers have already reached a significant volume of registered women, while the remaining disbursements are scheduled for August 1.
The announcement was made during a state-sponsored devotional assembly, reflecting a broader regional policy aimed at promoting multi-faith cultural events alongside welfare initiatives. Regional leadership noted that administrative savings achieved through strict anti-corruption measures have been directly redirected into public services, including the state’s signature free electricity initiative and enhanced healthcare insurance coverage.
The public outreach program highlighted a distinct effort to organize large-scale community events across all twenty-two districts of the state, marking a notable shift in how cultural traditions are supported at the provincial level.
“For the first time, Punjab has a Chief Minister against whom no one can level even an allegation of a single rupee of corruption,” Kejriwal declared, addressing the gathering alongside senior state officials. He maintained that fiscal prudence allowed the administration to sustain multiple citizen welfare projects simultaneously, adding, “By saving every single rupee, he has provided electricity free for you, provided Sehat Beema of up to ₹10 lakh, arranged ‘tirath yatras’ and now deposits ₹1,000 every month into your accounts.”
In tandem with the direct cash assistance updates, the administration detailed a major expansion of the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra scheme. Starting August 1, three additional travel routes will become operational, providing organized transit for over one and a half lakh pilgrims to notable spiritual destinations including Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mathura, Vrindavan, Khatu Shyam Ji, and Salasar Ji.
Progress was also reported on various heritage restoration works, including an eighty-crore-rupee infrastructure upgrade at the historic Kali Mata Mandir in Patiala, which is scheduled for completion this October. Additionally, the state finalized plans to establish a new cultural complex dedicated to Sita Mata and Luv Kush adjacent to the Bhagwan Valmiki Mandir in Amritsar.
