Mandi, April 13: A moderate-intensity earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale struck Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district on Sunday morning, officials from the Meteorological Department confirmed.
The quake hit at 9:18 am, with its epicentre located at 31.49°N latitude and 76.94°E longitude near Mandi town. The tremor originated at a depth of 5 km.
No loss of life or property has been reported from any part of the state so far, officials said.
Mandi district lies in seismic zone 5, categorised as a high-risk area for earthquakes. Authorities have advised residents to remain alert but not panic.
