Sri Ganganagar/Chandigarh, 15 October 2025: The Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has tracked and facilitated the detention of fugitive gangster Amit Sharma, also known as Jack Pandit, in the United States, officials said on Tuesday. Sharma, a key operative of the Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar syndicate, was apprehended following intelligence shared by the AGTF with the CBI’s Interpol Branch, which issued a Red Corner Notice and alerted American authorities, Additional Director General of Police (Crime/AGTF) Dinesh MN said.

Sharma, originally from Sri Ganganagar, was wanted in multiple criminal cases in India. After fleeing, he moved through Dubai and Spain before reaching the US, where he operated the gang’s extortion and money laundering network. Officials said he collected extortion money overseas and routed it to gang members in India, while also providing shelter, funding, and forged documents for absconding members abroad.

Initial intelligence indicated that Sharma had previously financed the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s international operations before switching allegiance to the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar syndicate. He was involved in procuring weapons, facilitating drug trafficking, and managing hawala operations for gang activities in India and overseas.

Known by multiple aliases including Sultan, Doctor, Panditji, and Arpit, Sharma maintained a low profile. The CBI’s Interpol Branch is now coordinating his deportation to India.
