Officials said earthmovers were deployed immediately to carry out relief measures and bring the passengers out safely.

“The passengers of the bus were brought out of it,” a police official confirmed, adding that rescue teams worked continuously until all those stuck were accounted for.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, expressing deep anguish over the incident, directed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy to supervise relief measures on a war footing.

According to an official release, the Chief Minister also instructed some ministers to rush to the accident site to monitor the rescue efforts. He further ordered officials to shift injured passengers to Hyderabad for advanced medical treatment without delay.

Authorities are yet to confirm the cause of the gravel collapse, but officials said heavy machinery remains on site as a precautionary measure to clear debris and prevent further accidents.
