RR vs LSG Match Prediction: Rajasthan Royals struggling for consistency in performance will take on Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL match on Saturday with the intention of breaking the streak of three consecutive defeats. After just two wins in seven matches, the Royals are at the eighth position in the table. In the last match, they were defeated by Delhi Capitals in the Super Over. Royals will now have to forget this defeat and improve their position in the points table with a win over the Lucknow team captained by Rishabh Pant.
Doubt over Samson playing
The Royals team, which is struggling with lack of consistency in bowling and batting, has not been able to catch the rhythm. Captain Sanju Samson retired hurt in the last match due to a strain in his arm. His availability is doubtful. The team is waiting for his scan report. The Royals’ batting has failed so far and the middle order has not been able to perform under pressure. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, has shown signs of returning to form by scoring half-centuries against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals, but it remains to be seen whether he is able to maintain this rhythm. Samson’s bat is also silent since scoring 66 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match. A lot will depend on his and Jaiswal’s form. The Royals batsmen will face bowlers like Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan, Digvesh Rathi and Ravi Bishnoi.
Pooran in great form
On the other hand, despite losing to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the last match, Lucknow is in a better position. The team is in fifth place after winning four out of seven matches. Lucknow’s batsmen, especially Nicholas Pooran (357 runs in seven matches) and Mitchell Marsh (295 runs in six matches), have made a splash. Pooran is first and Marsh is third in the list of batsmen. South Africa’s Aiden Markram has also scored runs. However, his compatriot David Miller has not been able to do anything special yet. Captain Pant also opened his hands by scoring 63 runs in 49 balls against Chennai, although he could not lead the team to victory.
Mayank’s joining will add speed to Lucknow
Initially, Lucknow’s weak link was its bowlers but they have performed better by learning from their mistakes. India’s fastest bowler Mayank Yadav has joined the team, although the team management is waiting for his fitness certificate from the Center of Excellence.
