Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora Announces New 368-Bed Multi-Speciality Facility

Chandigarh/Ludhiana, March 11: Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora declared on Wednesday that Punjab’s healthcare landscape is set for a significant transformation with Livasa Hospitals announcing a Rs 360 crore investment for a new facility in Ludhiana. The project, a 368-bed multi-speciality tertiary care hospital, is being developed at Sherpur Chowk on the National Highway, ensuring easy accessibility for patients across the region.

The Minister stated that the Punjab Government remains focused on strengthening the state as a premier medical hub in North India. He maintained that this substantial investment reflects strong institutional confidence in the state’s economic potential and healthcare sector. According to the Minister, the facility will be developed on over 9,500 square yards of land and is expected to become operational in phases over the next 18 months, significantly boosting local healthcare capacity.

Sanjeev Arora affirmed that the establishment of this hospital will provide residents with advanced tertiary care closer to home, effectively reducing the need for patients to travel to Delhi or other metropolitan cities for complex treatments. He asserted that the project will also generate hundreds of skilled and semi-skilled employment opportunities for the youth of Punjab. The Minister maintained that the government is committed to encouraging modern medical infrastructure and advanced technology to improve overall public health outcomes.
