Hisar, Jan 15: Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini chaired a high-level pre-budget consultation at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University on Thursday, assuring that the agriculture sector will be the centerpiece of the state’s 2026-27 financial plan.

Addressing agricultural experts, FPOs, and progressive farmers, the Chief Minister noted that the government is framing policies with the specific needs of the farming community at the core.

The Chief Minister directly said that the identity of Haryana is inseparable from its hardworking farmers and a robust rural economy. He mentioned that the state’s budget will emphasize increasing farmers’ income and strengthening allied sectors like animal husbandry, horticulture, and fisheries.

“The farmer, the food provider, is not limited to just food grain production, but is also the bearer of our culture, tradition and civilization,” Saini said during the meeting.

Stressing the success of previous consultations, the Chief Minister noted that out of 161 suggestions received last year, 99 were successfully integrated into the 2025-26 budget. These inclusions led to significant decisions, such as the renovation of all mandis and the establishment of seed testing laboratories in every district.
