18th October 2024 — The village of Samray, near Fatehgarh Chudri, has been shaken by the sudden passing of Surjit Kaur, the village panch, who reportedly died from a heart attack two days ago. Her daughter, Pardeep Kaur, shared that after visiting her in-laws, she received a devastating call this morning informing her of her mother’s death.
Local villagers, Suhinder Singh and Gurinderbir Singh Pintu, said that Surjit Kaur suffered a heart attack this morning and was rushed to a private hospital, where she passed away. This marks the seventh death in the village within the past two months, a pattern that has left the community deeply concerned.
In response to the series of deaths, the villagers had planned to begin a Sri Akhand Path Sahib in the village’s Gurdwara Sahib today, seeking divine intervention to bring an end to the troubling events.
