New Delhi, March 17: Delhi Akali chief Paramjit Singh Sarna has called upon the Sikh community to immediately stop the circulation of artificial intelligence-generated videos featuring Sri Darbar Sahib. The leader stated that even inadvertent sharing of such synthetic media could undermine the sanctity of the holy site.
The appeal follows consultations with Harmeet Shah Singh, a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s AI sub-committee. Sarna maintained that those who have studied the implications of emerging technologies recognize clear risks in the proliferation of AI-altered content.
“Such content demands restraint and responsibility from the community, not circulation,” Sarna asserted. He declared that the sanctity of Sri Darbar Sahib must not be left vulnerable to any form of distortion, regardless of whether the misrepresentation is subtle or unintended.
Sarna noted that in the current digital landscape, casual sharing of these videos contributes to the normalization of synthetic imagery. He affirmed that the community must adopt a more considered approach to new tools, ensuring that reverence is maintained as technology shifts.
