Akhnoor, 12 January 2025: A search operation targeting suspected militants near the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor continues for a second day, as authorities utilize drones, sniffer dogs, and advanced technology to search the dense Jogiwan forest.
The operation, launched on Saturday following reports from locals of suspicious individuals spotted in the Bhattal area, was triggered by fears of a potential infiltration attempt.
Additional troops have been deployed to widen the search perimeter, though no suspects have been found yet, according to reports.
Police units have joined military personnel in ground operations, with the focus on securing the area.
“Drones and sniffer dogs are being used to ensure a thorough sweep of the region,” an official stated, noting that the latest technology is enhancing the operation’s efficiency.
