SAS Nagar, November 12, 2025 — The Second Edition of the Punjab Equestrian Festival is set to kick off from November 14 to 16 at The Meadow, Village Palanpur, Mohali, officials said Wednesday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, who reviewed preparations with SDM Kharar Divya P. and SP Mullanpur Dharamveer Singh, said the festival will showcase Punjab’s rich equestrian heritage while promoting tourism and sporting excellence.

“The Punjab Equestrian Festival not only honours Punjab’s deep-rooted connection with horses but also promotes tourism, sport, and cultural pride on a grand platform,” she said.

This year’s edition will feature 23 equestrian competitions, including Show Jumping, Tent Pegging, Dressage, Hacks, Cross Country, Polo demonstrations, and the Show Jumping Derby — being introduced for the first time in India. The Derby will challenge the endurance, agility, and coordination of horse and rider across natural obstacles and varied terrain.

Nearly 500 horses of diverse breeds and colours from across India and abroad will be showcased at a special horse exhibition, providing spectators a glimpse of the country’s equine lineage.

The festival will also include a Lifestyle Fashion Show curated by Simran Dhillon, blending modern fashion with equestrian elegance. A Carnival Bazaar featuring shopping and food stalls, displays by self-help groups, and premium outdoor and equestrian brands will create a festive atmosphere. Cultural performances, live music, and traditional folk acts will add to the vibrancy of the event.

Officials including DDPO Parambir Kaur, Deepinder Singh Brar, Prof. Gurbakhsish Singh Antal, and District Sports Officer Rupesh Begda were present during the review meeting.
