May 9,2025: IPL 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made special arrangements to send the players of Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings from Dharamshala to Delhi. The BCCI sent the entire broadcast team along with the players of both the teams to Delhi by Vande Bharat train. The authorities canceled the IPL 2025 match between Delhi and Punjab. They made the decision to cancel the match amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. However, the board stated that technical faults in Dharamshala prevented the match from being held.
300 people were on the train
After the two teams’ IPL 2025 match was abruptly canceled, Vande Bharat decided to send the players and personnel in light of the current circumstances and the logistical difficulties. BCCI sources reported that this fast train transported over 300 individuals, including players, support personnel, and broadcasting crew members.
Spectators were safely evacuated from the stadium
Punjab Kings won the toss in this match and decided to bat first. The match started late due to rain.The authorities canceled the IPL 2025 match between Delhi and Punjab. They made the decision to cancel the match amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. However, the board stated that technical faults in Dharamshala prevented them from holding the match. Batting first, Punjab scored 122 runs in 10.1 overs for the loss of one wicket. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh had a 122-run partnership for the first wicket. Priyansh scored 70 runs in 34 balls before the umpire dismissed him, while Prabhsimran remained unbeaten after scoring 50 runs.
The beautiful ground of Dharamshala has a capacity of about 23,000 and it was about 80 percent full at the time of evacuation. A source in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) told in a report. There was no panic among the spectators. They (spectators and players) carefully and safely took themselves out of the stadium.After leaving the ground, disappointed fans reacted against Pakistan.
