The title match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 was played in December last year. In the match played on December 15, under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, Mumbai won the title by defeating Madhya Pradesh led by Rajat Patidar by five wickets. The right-handed batsman won this title for the second time for Mumbai. Earlier, the team won the title in 2022/23 under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane.
In this match played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Mumbai won the toss and invited Madhya Pradesh to bat. Thanks to Rajat Patidar’s half-century, the team scored 174 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs.
