Chandigarh, Dec. 29: Punjab Cabinet Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Monday directed officials to complete ongoing rural infrastructure projects within stipulated timelines, during a review meeting held at Vikas Bhawan in SAS Nagar.
The meeting focused on the construction of 3,100 model playgrounds and 500 panchayat houses across the state, which are currently at various stages of completion.

“Development works must be completed on time so that people in villages can benefit without delay,” Sond said, stressing the need for regular monitoring and coordination among departments.
Officials briefed the minister on progress, funding status and implementation challenges related to the projects. Sond asked officers to remove bottlenecks and ensure quality standards are maintained during execution.
Administrative Secretary of the Rural Development and Panchayats Department Ajit Balaji Joshi, Joint Development Commissioner Shena Aggarwal, Punjab Development Commission member Anurag Kundu, Director Uma Shankar Gupta and Chief Engineer Karanpal Singh Chahal attended the meeting.
