Gobingarg, Feb 26: Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Thursday inaugurated a state-of-the-art dairy feed manufacturing unit at the Wazirabad Industrial Park, marking a significant expansion for Cargill Private Limited in Punjab. The ₹300 crore facility is now recognized as the largest dairy feed plant in South Asia, signaling a major boost for the state’s agro-industrial sector.

During the inauguration, Minister Arora stated that the project reflects the growing confidence of global investors in the state’s business ecosystem. He affirmed that the administration, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, remains committed to accelerating economic development through the Invest Punjab initiative. The Minister maintained that such investments are crucial for generating high-quality employment opportunities for local youth.

The new plant, spread across 15 acres, possesses an annual production capacity of 4.5 lakh metric tonnes. Minister Arora declared that the facility will provide dairy farmers with localized access to scientifically developed cattle feed, which is expected to enhance milk yield and overall animal health. He asserted that the improved productivity would directly increase the income of farmers, helping Punjab scale new heights in the dairy sector.

Looking ahead, the Minister noted that the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026, scheduled for mid-March in Mohali, will further position the state as a top industrial destination. He stated that international and national investors have expressed satisfaction with the government’s proactive policies and the peaceful industrial environment.

Local MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai affirmed that the plant is expected to create nearly 1,000 jobs in the region. He stated that the availability of superior feed would significantly improve the quality of milk produced in the area, benefiting both consumers and producers.
