NEW DELHI, OCT 21: A Special Executive Magistrate in Delhi ordered the immediate release of Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka following court proceedings where formal sureties were submitted.
Official representatives maintained that the judicial decision rejected a police request seeking an additional three-day extension of judicial custody. The political figures had previously spent over a week in detention after being apprehended for allegedly entering the restricted protest location at Jantar Mantar and breaching established peace bonds.
Earlier in the day, higher judicial forums declined to intervene in the administrative process, directing the applicants to await the magistrate’s final determination. Authorities affirmed that all legal formalities were completed during the hearing to facilitate the release of both individuals.
