Jalandhar, April 3: Horticulture and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat, alongside Cultural Affairs Advisor Deepak Bali, flagged off a special pilgrimage train from Jalandhar City Railway Station on Friday. The “Damri Yatra,” bound for Haridwar, departed under the spiritual guidance of Sant Nirmal Dass Ji Jode Wale and other prominent religious leaders.
During the departure ceremony, Minister Bhagat called upon the gathered devotees to integrate the philosophy of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji into their daily lives. He stated that the Guru’s message of universal brotherhood remains the most effective tool for dismantling barriers of caste and creed. The Minister affirmed that the state government is committed to spreading this vision of an inclusive society across the globe.
“The Punjab Government is making tireless efforts to spread Guru Ji’s message of universal brotherhood to every corner of the world,” Minister Bhagat stated. He further revealed that the administration has already begun drafting extensive programs to commemorate the upcoming 650th Parkash Purab of Guru Ravidas Ji on a grand scale.
Deepak Bali, Advisor to the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, also addressed the pilgrims, noting that progress is only possible for nations that honor their spiritual heritage. He maintained that the current administration is dedicated to the prosperity of every community, guided by the path shown by Punjab’s saints.
The event saw participation from several dignitaries, including Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar and District Planning Committee Chairman Amritpal Singh. A large number of devotees and members of the Sant community gathered at the platform to witness the commencement of the journey.
