Srinagar, Aug. 29 – A SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Srinagar made an emergency landing at Srinagar airport on Friday afternoon after the crew reported a pressurisation problem midair, officials said.
Flight number SG 385, carrying more than 200 passengers, landed safely at 3:27 p.m. after the pilot sought priority landing clearance. “The aircraft landed safely at 3.27 pm. No medical assistance was requested by passengers or crew. The aircraft will undergo necessary inspection,” a senior airport official in Srinagar said.
According to the airline, the problem emerged during the aircraft’s descent. “The flight experienced a rapid descent during approach, following a rise in cabin altitude, which triggered a warning,” a SpiceJet spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that the crew followed all prescribed safety procedures. “The Captain requested priority landing as a precautionary measure. The aircraft landed safely in Srinagar and passengers and crew disembarked normally,” the airline said in its statement.
Authorities confirmed there were no injuries and that standard technical checks are being carried out on the aircraft before further operations.
