NEW DELHI, May 12: Indian-based global trading firm SRD Exports has announced its strategic entry into Dubai’s thriving food market, unveiling plans to supply a broad range of Indian staples, including flour, rice, lentils, sugar, and traditional spices.
Founded in 2016, SRD Exports has earned a strong foothold in international markets through its trade in Indian garments, musical instruments, artificial jewelry, and religious items.
The company now aims to tap into the growing appetite for authentic Indian food products in the Gulf region.
“Dubai’s diverse and growing population, combined with its role as a global trade hub, makes it an ideal destination for Indian staples,” a company spokesperson said.
“We see tremendous potential in reaching consumers who value authenticity and high quality in their everyday food choices.”
The decision to diversify into the food sector comes amid a steady global surge in demand for Indian food items. Products like basmati rice, high-quality wheat flour, premium lentils, and traditional spice blends have seen expanding appeal among both Indian expatriates and international consumers exploring South Asian cuisine.
SRD Exports plans to maintain the stringent quality and ethical standards that have underpinned its success in textiles.
The company emphasized that sustainability, transparency, and product integrity will remain central to its food supply operations.
To support the launch, the company is actively seeking distribution partners in Dubai, targeting firms involved in retail, hospitality supply, and food wholesale. “We are interested in working with partners who share our values on quality, consistency, and service,” the spokesperson added.
“Together, we hope to make aata, dal, chawal, chini, and authentic masalas more accessible to the community in Dubai.”
Industry analysts note that Dubai’s import-reliant economy presents promising ground for niche suppliers.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, in particular, has shown consistent growth in Indian food consumption, driven by both diaspora demand and broader culinary interest.
While textiles will remain a core part of SRD Exports’ operations, the leadership sees this shift into food as a natural progression.
Years of experience managing quality control and customer satisfaction in exports, the company believes, have prepared it to meet the high standards of the food industry.
As global consumer trends increasingly prioritize authenticity, traceability, and food quality, SRD Exports’ move aligns with shifting trade dynamics.
The company hopes to serve not just the Indian diaspora but a wider international audience hungry for genuine Indian flavors.
