NEW DELHI, OCT 15: The defence capabilities of the nation received a substantial upgrade as the Ministry of Defence finalized a major procurement agreement valued at Rs 2,563 crore with NewSpace India Limited. The financial layout secures the development and delivery of the indigenously engineered GSAT-7C satellite tailored specifically for the Indian Air Force.
Historically, aviation command units relied on shared transponder capacities hosted across orbital assets managed alongside the Indian Army and the Indian Navy. Officials emphasized that acquiring an exclusive communication node will significantly enhance data security, minimize operational latency, and facilitate seamless coordination across airborne assets in challenging tactical environments. The milestone acquisition aligns directly with broader national objectives prioritizing domestic technological self-reliance.
