Sudden Weather Change: Wet Spell in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh

Chandigarh/Shimla: In Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, weather conditions changed abruptly overnight, bringing rain and gusty winds to all three states, with the Meteorological Department issuing an orange alert for several districts in Punjab.

Accordint o MeT, the alert affects Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, and Kapurthala, where winds are blowing at speeds of 40 km per hour, and 5-15 mm of rainfall is expected.

Moreover, a yellow alert has been issued for Tarn Taran, Jalandhar, Moga, Faridkot, Muktsar, and Fazilka, where winds may reach speeds of 20 to 40 km per hour, along with an anticipated 5 mm of rain.

A yellow alert has also been issued for Kullu, Kangra, Chamba, Lahaul-Spiti, and Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh.
