Chandigarh, July 3 — Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday unveiled the party’s new 97-member working committee, in a move aimed at reinvigorating the organisation and expanding inclusivity across leadership levels.

The list includes 20 senior leaders and, for the first time, 16 senior women leaders. Several youth leaders have also been given space, reflecting the party’s effort to balance experience with new energy. Senior leader Baldev Singh Khaira from Phillaur has been inducted as the 97th member, in addition to the earlier-announced 96 names.

“This committee reflects our commitment to empowering all sections of the party — including women and young leaders — while valuing the experience of our senior members,” said Sukhbir Singh Badal while announcing the list.
