Amritsar, October 13 — Actors Sunny Deol and his son Karan Deol are currently shooting their upcoming period drama Lahore 1947 in Amritsar. The film, reportedly adapted from Asghar Wajahat’s celebrated play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Nai, delves into the human stories and emotions surrounding the Partition of 1947.

The play—titled after the Punjabi saying “He who has not seen Lahore, has not been born”—captures the shared culture and sensibilities of Lahore and Amritsar, two cities bound by history but divided by borders.

A source close to the production said the film will be a high-action drama and marks the on-screen reunion of the father-son duo after Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, Karan’s debut film. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan, the movie also stars Preity Zinta and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles.

Karan Deol had recently shared pictures from Khalsa College, where portions of the film were shot, expressing excitement about the project. Other key sequences were filmed at Khasa and Attari railway stations, chosen for their vintage charm and historical relevance.

The film also marks another collaboration between Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi, who have previously delivered iconic hits like Ghayal, Ghatak, and Damini.

With its powerful theme and nostalgic setting, Lahore 1947 promises to revisit one of the subcontinent’s most defining moments through the lens of emotion, loss, and shared heritage.
