TARN TARAN, June 3: The Punjab Police on Tuesday arrested a man identified as Gagandeep Singh for allegedly leaking sensitive information regarding Indian Army movements to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) during Operation Sindoor.

According to Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the accused was in direct contact with Gopal Singh Chawla, a Pakistan-based pro-Khalistan leader. “Singh was actively engaged in espionage activities and maintained links with ISI operatives,” DGP Yadav stated on social media platform X.

During the arrest, police recovered a mobile phone from Singh that allegedly contained classified military data, including details of troop deployments, strategic locations, and contacts of over 20 ISI agents.

Investigators suspect Singh had been transmitting this information regularly, posing a grave threat to national security. Police further revealed that Singh had been receiving payments from Pakistani handlers, routed through Indian financial networks. Authorities have launched a comprehensive financial and technical investigation to trace the flow of funds and expose any additional collaborators in the espionage network.

A case has been registered under the Official Secrets Act at City Police Station, Tarn Taran, and further inquiries are ongoing.

“This arrest is a significant breakthrough in dismantling a cross-border intelligence network,” said a senior police official involved in the investigation.
