KORBA, Chhattisgarh, 19 February – A 19-year-old man was found hanging in his home in Korba’s Pakariya village after his father reprimanded him for drinking, police said Wednesday.
Vikas Patel had asked his parents for ₹2,000 on Monday, claiming he needed new clothes.
However, when they returned from voting in the panchayat elections, they found him intoxicated, a police official said.
Realizing he had spent the money on alcohol, his father, Sadhram Patel, scolded him and warned about the dangers of addiction at a young age.
Later that day, Patel was discovered hanging from the ceiling with a rope, the official said.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
