Ayodhya, July 6: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust officially accepted the resignation of its general secretary, Champat Rai, on Monday, designating Bajrang Bagra to take over the vital administrative role. The significant leadership transition was finalized during an extensive trust assembly convened directly inside the Ram Temple complex in Ayodhya.
The high-level gathering focused heavily on structural updates and the evaluation of existing oversight protocols. Senior trustees, government representatives, and legal experts assembled to deliberate on comprehensive governance reforms aimed at strengthening the management of the prominent institution. Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das chaired the proceedings, which were formally organized by Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri.
The committee expressed a collective focus on institutional continuity during the transition. A trust representative stated, “The board is actively reviewing existing administrative mechanisms to implement governance updates that will secure absolute clarity in all future operations.”
The administrative adjustments follow a formal resignation submitted by Rai on June 26, coming in the wake of an ongoing official investigation into financial discrepancies regarding temple donations. Trustee Anil Mishra also stepped down from his position recently following the initial inquiry. Administrative sources maintained that no formal charges have been established against either individual, and both are participating transparently with the ongoing procedural review.
An official close to the matter affirmed, “The decision to integrate new leadership ensures that daily operations continue seamlessly while authorities complete their standard legal inquiries into the recent security and donation discrepancies.”
