Mansa, Oct 14: Public outrage surrounding the recent murder of anti-drug campaigner Parvinder Singh Jhota boiled over as a volatile crowd targeted properties linked to the primary suspect in Mansa.
Witnesses reported that an angry mob, featuring several Nihangs, used iron rods, sticks, and swords to vandalize and tear down the shop belonging to accused individual Ashwani Kumar near the main railway crossing before igniting a fire.
As security forces maintained a heavy presence to prevent further escalation, the local civil administration moved independently to demolish the front portion of the suspect’s residence in Veer Nagar, citing prior complaints of unauthorized construction.
