Pune: Three people, including two pilots and an engineer, were killed when a helicopter crashed and caught fire in Pune’s Oxford County Golf Course area on Wednesday morning around 7:40 am, officials said.
The chopper, en route to Juhu in Mumbai, crashed shortly after takeoff, according to the reports.
The victims have been identified as Girish Kumar, Pritam Singh Bhardwaj, and Paramjeet Singh.
Police confirmed that the helicopter caught fire after the crash, and fire tenders and water tankers were deployed.
Initial reports suggest fog may have contributed to the accident, though a detailed investigation will determine the exact cause, police added.
