Sirsa, March 26 — Three Gujarat Police personnel were killed and a Punjab Police assistant sub-inspector (ASI) critically injured when their SUV collided with a parked vehicle on the Dabwali-Chautala road in Sirsa district on Wednesday morning, police said.
The deceased were identified as Assistant Prosecution Officer Sunil Kumar, Sub-Inspector Jayender Singh, and Head Constable Prakash Bhat, all posted at Ahmedabad city police station. The injured Punjab Police ASI, JP Solanki, is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bathinda.
Dabwali Sadar Station House Officer Braham Prakash said the incident occurred around 5:30 am when the Gujarat Police team, traveling in a Mahindra Bolero, accompanied Solanki to Gujarat for an investigation. “The SUV rammed into another vehicle, killing the three Gujarat policemen on the spot,” he said.
Police are examining CCTV footage near the accident site to identify the vehicle involved. “We have recovered the number plate of a truck with a Punjab registration and are verifying it with the help of Punjab Police,” the SHO added.
An FIR will be registered after recording Solanki’s statement, police said.
