Three killed in hit-and-run in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur, Jan 1 — Three men were killed and another sustained serious injuries after an unidentified vehicle rammed into a motorcycle in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district on Thursday morning, police said.

The accident took place near the Water Supply Office in Borha village under the Garhshankar area when four men were travelling on a two-wheeler.

Police said the impact threw the riders onto the road, killing three of them on the spot. The fourth victim was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

“On receiving information, police teams immediately reached the site and shifted the bodies to the Civil Hospital in Garhshankar for post-mortem examination,” a police official said.

The injured man is undergoing treatment at the hospital, officials said.

Police have registered a case and launched a search to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
