Train Collision in Tamil Nadu Derails Six Coaches, Injures Many

New Delhi/Chennai, 12 October, 2024: Several people were feared injured when the Mysuru-Darbhanga Express collided with a stationary goods train near Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, according to police on Friday later evening.

The Bagmati Express experienced a “heavy jerk” as it passed Ponneri station at 8:27 pm, and after moving onto the loopline, it struck the goods train.

Kavarapettai, located near Ponneri in the Tiruvallur district close to Chennai, is where the incident occurred.

Six coaches derailed, with no fatalities reported, and a few passengers sustained injuries.
