Trump Issues Final Deadline to Iran Over Strait of Hormuz

President Warns of Infrastructure Strikes if Deal Not Reached by Tuesday

Washington, April 5: U.S. President Donald Trump issued a severe ultimatum to Iran on Sunday, declaring that major military action against the country’s energy and civil infrastructure is imminent if a diplomatic agreement is not reached by Tuesday. In an interview with Axios, the President stated that while “deep negotiations” are ongoing, the United States is prepared to strike critical targets if Tehran fails to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The President affirmed that his envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are currently engaged in intensive discussions with Iranian officials. However, Trump expressed frustration over perceived delays in the process, noting that a recent strike on a major bridge connecting Tehran to northern Iran was a response to a lack of seriousness from the Iranian side.

“There is a good chance, but if they don’t make a deal, I am blowing up everything over there,” the President asserted during the interview. He maintained that Tuesday would be “Power Plant Day and Bridge Day” if his demands are not met.

In a series of statements on Truth Social, the President used sharp language to convey the gravity of the deadline, urging the Islamic Republic to act before it is “too late.” He suggested that Iranian civilians, who he claimed are living in fear of their government, would support such decisive action.

“The negotiations are going well, but you never get to the finish line with the Iranians,” the President remarked, while affirming that a video clip of a collapsed bridge shared earlier this week was a precursor of what is to follow.

White House officials stated that the primary objective remains the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to de-escalate the conflict in West Asia. However, the President affirmed that the U.S. will not withdraw from the situation, declaring that Washington will wrap up its assessment of Iran’s infrastructure by the Tuesday deadline.
