Washington DC, 20 January 2025: Donald Trump, soon to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, is expected to sign a series of executive orders addressing immigration, energy, and governance immediately after his inauguration, a close aide revealed Sunday.
The scope of these executive actions underscores Trump’s urgency to implement his agenda swiftly.
“The breadth of the orders illustrates the ambitious changes Trump and his team aim to bring, from immigration and border security to energy policy and government hiring,” The Wall Street Journal reported.
In a parallel development, TikTok resumed operations in the United States less than 24 hours after going offline due to legislative restrictions.
Trump, speaking at a victory rally, credited his intervention and confirmed his plans to sign an executive order delaying enforcement of the law affecting TikTok.
“Tiktok is back. You know, I did a little TikTok thing,” Trump remarked.
He noted that the platform, with its 170 million American users, played a crucial role in his election strategy.
“Republicans never won the youth vote, but this time we did—by 36 points. That’s why I like TikTok,” he added, drawing cheers from supporters.
Addressing concerns over the platform’s ownership, Trump proposed a joint venture allowing the U.S. government to claim a 50% stake. “If they don’t approve, TikTok is out of business. If they do, it could be worth a trillion dollars,” he explained, describing the plan as beneficial for the U.S. economy and youth engagement.
TikTok acknowledged Trump’s intervention, stating it provided “clarity and assurance” for resuming its services. The app’s rapid return signaled the potential for cooperation under the proposed agreement.
The anticipated executive orders and TikTok resolution signal the incoming administration’s intent to act decisively on pressing issues from day one.
