Washington, Jan 21: United States President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Tehran on Tuesday, stating that any attempt on his life would result in the complete elimination of Iran’s national identity. During an interview on the News Nation program ‘Katie Pavlich Tonight’, the President disclosed that he has already authorized severe retaliatory measures should such an event occur.
The President stated that his administration has established a zero-tolerance policy regarding threats to his safety from foreign adversaries. He noted that the response to any successful assassination plot would be absolute and catastrophic for the Iranian nation.
“I have given very strict instructions that if anything happens, they will wipe them off the map,” President Trump directly said during the television broadcast.
These remarks follow a period of escalating rhetoric between Washington and Tehran. Previously, Iranian officials had cautioned the U.S. administration against targeting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The President has frequently spoken about ending the nearly four-decade-long rule of the Supreme Leader, a stance that has drawn sharp rebukes from the Iranian military leadership.
In response to the American position, General Abolfazl Shekarchi, a spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces, noted that any move against their leadership would be met with extreme force. The General mentioned that the Iranian military is prepared to defend its sovereignty and its leaders from external threats.
“Trump knows that if a hand is extended towards our leader, we will not only cut off that hand but also set his world on fire,” General Shekarchi directly said.
Despite the warnings from Tehran, the President reaffirmed his directive to military advisers. He mentioned that the contingency plans are in place to ensure that Iran faces total destruction if it follows through with threats against his life.
