Gurdaspur, November 2 — The Gurdaspur Police have arrested two men allegedly linked to the banned outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) for conspiring to carry out targeted killings in Punjab.

The accused, identified as Lovedeep Singh alias Love and Tek Chand alias Tinku, were reportedly in direct contact with foreign-based gangsters Gurdev Jassal and Gurlal alias Gullu, who are associated with BKI, police said.

According to initial investigations, the duo had been tasked by their foreign handlers to eliminate rival gang members in the state in a bid to create panic and unrest.

Police have recovered three .32-bore pistols and live cartridges from their possession. “The accused were working on the instructions of handlers abroad to spread terror. We are interrogating them to trace their entire network,” a senior police officer said.

Officials added that the police remain “committed to dismantling the gangster-terror network” to ensure peace and security in Punjab.
