Mohali, November 27, 2024: The Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in collaboration with the SAS Nagar Police, apprehended two members of the Davinder Bambiha gang in a joint operation near Mubarakpur.

The arrested, Harinder Singh of Mehmedpur village (Mohali) and Gurjinder Singh of Warana, were found in possession of two .32-bore pistols and seven cartridges.

DGP Gaurav Yadav revealed that the accused were operating under the instructions of US-based Kulveer Singh alias Lala Banipal, an associate of foreign-based gangster Lucky Patial. Banipal is already implicated in masterminding two attacks in SAS Nagar in 2023, targeting a financier in September and a rival gang member in December.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the arrested individuals were tasked with executing criminal activities in the Tricity area. Efforts are underway to identify their associates and unravel further connections.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Pareek confirmed that Harinder Singh has a prior criminal record, with cases related to attempted murder and the Arms Act registered against him.

The SSP stated that swift action based on intelligence led to the arrests at the focal point near Mubarakpur.

An FIR (No. 354, dated 25/11/2024) under Section 111 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25(6)(7) and 27 of the Arms Act has been lodged at Derabassi Police Station in SAS Nagar. Investigations continue to track additional gang members.
