Two Class 11 students killed, one critical as speeding car hits bike in Abohar

Abohar, October 14: Two Class 11 students were killed and another was critically injured when a speeding car hit their motorcycle on the Abohar-Malout highway in Balluana, about 10 km from Abohar, on Monday afternoon.

Police said the students were returning home from Government Senior Secondary School in Balluana when the accident occurred. The car, reportedly at high speed, hit the bike, jumped over the divider after the driver lost control, and fled the spot.

Two students, identified as Karan and Rakesh, both residents of Ramgarh village, died on the spot. The third student, Prem, also from the same village, sustained serious injuries. He was first taken to the Abohar Civil Hospital, where doctors referred him to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot, for advanced treatment.

All three students were around 18 years old. Eyewitnesses said passersby rushed the victims to the hospital after the driver fled the scene.

The families of the deceased, who reached the hospital soon after the accident, were inconsolable. Police have launched a search for the car and its driver.
