The arrested suspects, identified as Ajay (alias Aman) from Bhaini Amirpur and Rahul from Petwar village, both had criminal records. Police said that Ajay is a suspect in the murder of a youth earlier this month.

According to Hansi SP Hemendra Kumar Meena, the police acted on a tip-off regarding the criminals’ movements and set up a trap to arrest them. At around 1:30 AM, two police teams identified the suspects sitting in a car near a residential locality. When approached and asked to surrender, the suspects opened fire. A bullet hit the bonnet of the police vehicle, and another struck the bulletproof vest of Sub-Inspector Ravi Kant, leading one of the teams.

In the exchange of fire, both suspects were injured and later taken to Hansi Civil Hospital for treatment before being referred to Hisar Civil Hospital.

Police seized an illegal pistol, a country-made weapon, and cartridges from the suspects. SP Meena stated that authorities are investigating possible ties between the criminals and gangsters.
