Chandigarh, Jan 29: Punjab Police, in a joint operation with central agencies and Himachal Pradesh authorities, successfully dismantled an ISI-backed narco-terror module managed by Harwinder Singh Rinda, Punjab DGP Yadav said on Thursday.

The operation led to the arrest of two individuals identified as Shemsher Singh, also known as Sheru, and Pradeep Singh, also known as Deepo. Both suspects are linked to the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and were allegedly involved in the recent Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast at the Nalagarh Police Station in Himachal Pradesh, he said further,

The arrests followed a coordinated intelligence-led mission aimed at neutralizing terror cells operating across state lines.

During the apprehension, security forces recovered one IED, preventing potential future incidents.

Officials noted that the module was being operated under the direct guidance of Rinda, a notorious BKI operative currently believed to be based abroad.

“Two accused have been apprehended and one IED has been recovered,” the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) said while discussing the details of the operation.

He further noted that the intelligence-based crackdown was conducted in close coordination with Himachal Police and central agencies to ensure a comprehensive sweep of the network.

This development follows a series of efforts by state law enforcement to tighten security and track cross-border smuggling routes often used by such modules. The DGP mentioned that the force remains committed to dismantling terror networks and ensuring peace and security throughout the region.
