Rohtak/Bahadurgarh, November 26 — Two Class X students died in separate court accidents in Rohtak and Jhajjar after basketball poles fell on them during practice, officials said.

Aman, 15, of Bahadurgarh was injured on Sunday afternoon when a pole at a local stadium suddenly collapsed while he was practicing. He was taken to the civil hospital and later shifted to PGIMS Rohtak, where he died late Monday. “The incident shocked everyone at the stadium. He was a regular at the court,” a local coach said. His cremation was held on Tuesday.

A day later, 16-year-old Hardik from Lakhan Majra suffered fatal injuries when a pole broke and fell as he reportedly jumped to touch the basket at a stadium in his hometown. CCTV footage captured the collapse. Young players nearby pulled him out and rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. “Hardik had played at the sub-junior national level. Losing a boy like him is devastating,” another coach noted.

The two deaths, occurring barely a day apart, have unsettled families and the sports community across Haryana. Officials said both cases are being examined. “We are reviewing what led to these collapses,” a district sports officer said.
