Uncle-in-Law Arrested After Opening Fire on Woman in Moga

Moga, Dec. 19: A woman from Himmatpura village in Moga district was attacked by her uncle-in-law and his accomplice, who opened fire on her at her residence and misbehaved with her, according to the reports gathered by The Unmute.

The woman, Mandeep Kaur, filed a complaint against the two under Section 112 of the Indian Penal Code. Following her complaint, the police arrested both men.

Mandeep Kaur, whose husband passed away nine months ago, reported that her father-in-law, Balbir Singh, had been harassing her.

She stated that Balbir Singh, along with his accomplice Karamjit Singh, verbally abused her outside her house.

Despite her efforts to involve the sarpanch, the situation escalated, and they resorted to violence by firing at her.

Sadar Police Station Chief Harvinder Singh confirmed the incident, explaining that the police were alerted about the harassment and the shooting at Mandeep Kaur’s house.

Both Balbir Singh and Karamjit Singh were arrested, and further action is being taken in the case, he said.
