Lucknow, June 15: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a high-level review meeting at the Annexe Building on Sunday to evaluate the progress of Public Works Department (PWD) infrastructure projects across the Gorakhpur and Azamgarh divisions.
The administration directed senior departmental heads and administrative officials to expedite ongoing road works using a mission-mode approach, emphasizing that all projects must meet established quality standards and structural deadlines.
Special instructions were issued to identify and complete vulnerable road and drainage projects before the arrival of the monsoon season to minimize public inconvenience and prevent seasonal disruptions.
During the session, the PWD Principal Secretary submitted a comprehensive performance report detailing the department’s infrastructural achievements and completed allocations from the previous financial year.
The Chief Minister maintained that development plans based on recommendations from public representatives should receive immediate priority, with ground operations starting as soon as formal procedures conclude.
The state leadership declared that all regulatory approvals must be finalized by the end of June to facilitate prompt foundation ceremonies, adding that necessary construction materials and machinery must be secured in advance to ensure continuous work.
“With respect to the development framework for the 2026-27 financial year, road infrastructure projects must be prioritized equitably across all Assembly constituencies in both the Gorakhpur and Azamgarh divisions,” asserted the Chief Minister.
To maintain transparency and momentum, District Magistrates and Divisional Commissioners were instructed to establish a schedule of routine field inspections and utilize digital platforms for remote project tracking.
The administration also emphasized strict compliance with operational safety protocols, particularly regarding initiatives overseen by the Bridge Corporation (Setu Nigam). Officials declared that all site personnel must be equipped with appropriate safety gear, while also noting that specific infrastructure works, such as the Mohan Setu bridge in Deoria, will receive heightened monitoring to ensure steady progression.
