LUCKNOW, JUNE 2 — The Uttar Pradesh government has restructured its education department leadership, appointing Pratap Singh Baghel as the In-charge Director of Education for Secondary Education and Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi as the In-charge Director of Education for Basic Education.

The official orders, issued under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aim to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure closer monitoring of ongoing state initiatives.

Mr. Baghel previously served as the In-charge Director of Education for the basic wing in Lucknow. Following the fresh directives, his jurisdiction shifts to managing secondary education, spanning responsibilities across Prayagraj and Lucknow.

“The assignment of important responsibilities to experienced officers will give new strength to both the efficiency and accountability of the Education Department,” an official representative declared regarding the administrative shift.

Simultaneously, Mr. Chaturvedi takes over the basic education portfolio in Lucknow. He transitions into this position from his previous role as the In-charge Director of Literacy and Alternative Education for Uttar Pradesh.

Department officials maintained that the administrative reshuffle is an important step toward speeding up education reforms. The leadership changes come at a crucial time as the state manages the implementation of the New Education Policy, the NIPUN Bharat Mission, digital education initiatives, and overall school system upgrades.

Both officers possess extensive backgrounds in education administration. Authorities asserted that their combined experience and leadership are expected to foster better coordination, enhance the delivery of departmental schemes, and cultivate a result-based work culture across the state’s schooling system.
