New Delhi, October 11, 2025 — US Ambassador-designate Sergio Gor on Saturday said the United States greatly values its relationship with India following his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gor, who arrived in New Delhi on Friday, also held discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
“I had an incredible meeting with Prime Minister Modi. We discussed bilateral issues, including defence, trade and technology,” Gor said after the meeting. He added that they also addressed the significance of critical minerals for both countries.
Gor emphasized that President Donald Trump regards PM Modi as a “great and personal friend” and underscored the US commitment to strengthening ties with India.
The ambassador-designate’s visit comes amid ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, including strategic partnerships and technology exchanges, reflecting the growing importance of the India-US relationship.
