GREATER NOIDA, Sept 26 — Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada affirmed that Uttar Pradesh is undergoing a rapid transition from an electronics manufacturing base into the country’s leading technology and innovation hub.
Addressing an industry gathering, the Union Minister stated that coordinated policies under the central and state governments are driving large-scale infrastructure growth across artificial intelligence, semiconductor production, and data management. He noted that major investments, including facility expansions by Samsung and Yotta, reflect the evolving ecosystem within the state.
“The day is not far when Uttar Pradesh will be prominently mentioned in discussions on investment in India and across the world. The government’s objective is to make Uttar Pradesh a major hub for technology, innovation, research and manufacturing,” Jitin Prasada declared.
The Union Minister asserted that state policy aims to decentralize industrial investment beyond Noida into other regional centers, directly benefiting the local workforce. He maintained that long-term industrial success relies on building intrinsic competitive capabilities rather than relying solely on subsidies, while confirming that the state offers a secure policy framework to support multi-year commitments.
Adding to the state’s strategic outlook, Principal Secretary for IT and Electronics Alok Kumar noted that Uttar Pradesh is expanding its Global Capability Centre footprint beyond Noida into Lucknow and Kanpur. He stated that updated IT policies and industry-status recognitions position the state to attract major global technology operations.
