Chandigarh, October 17 — In an effort to inspire young innovators across Punjab, the Department of RISE at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran, has launched an extensive awareness campaign under the Viksit Bharat Buildathon — a national innovation challenge spearheaded by the Ministry of Education and NITI Aayog.

As part of the outreach, ten teams from ACIC RISE Association, CGC Landran, travelled to ten districts — Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ropar, Sangrur, Ludhiana, Moga, Patiala, and Mansa — to motivate students to participate in the Buildathon and contribute ideas aligned with India’s development goals under Viksit Bharat 2047.

The awareness sessions provided students with detailed insights into the Buildathon’s structure and its four key pillars — Atmanirbhar Bharat, Samriddh Bharat, Swadeshi, and Vocal for Local. Through interactive presentations and live demonstrations, participants learned about idea conceptualisation, prototype development, and innovation for social and economic impact.

Faculty mentors and coordinators from CGC Landran, including Er. Sonia Jindal, Er. Jaspreet Kaur, Er. Satwinder Singh, Dr. Sudhir, Mr. Nikhil Verma, and others, led the sessions across the districts. The outreach also highlighted the Buildathon’s prize pool of ₹1 crore, to be awarded to winners at district, state, and national levels, offering students a chance to showcase their innovations on a national platform.

The initiative drew an enthusiastic response from students, many of whom expressed interest in joining the Buildathon to develop solutions to real-world challenges.

Prof. (Dr.) Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director, CGC Landran, said the campaign underscored the nation’s belief in youth-led innovation. “The Viksit Bharat Buildathon reflects our confidence in young minds as catalysts of change. At CGC Landran, we are committed to nurturing this spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship to help shape a self-reliant India,” he noted.

Ms. Neha Sharma, Dean Research at ACIC RISE, CGC Landran, said the outreach aimed to connect creative ideas with practical execution. “The excitement among students across Punjab shows that the next generation is ready to innovate for impact. The Buildathon gives them a national platform to translate ideas into action,” she added.

Through initiatives like this, CGC Landran continues to promote innovation-driven learning and empower students to contribute meaningfully to the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
