Panchkula, Jan 20: The Special Task Force of Karnal apprehended a high-profile fugitive, Rajinder alias Jinda, following a targeted operation near Majri Chowk in Panchkula this Tuesday.

According to reports, the arrest of the Gondar village resident, who carried a combined bounty of 25,000, led to the recovery of a .32 bore country-made pistol and 10 live cartridges.

Authorities moved Jinda to the Government Hospital in Panchkula after he reportedly consumed a poisonous substance during the apprehension.

His health condition required immediate medical attention before he could be formally processed by the Sector 7 police.

“A team of STF, Karnal, on the basis of a tip-off, found him riding a scooter and arrested him,” officials stated regarding the midday interception.

The suspect’s criminal record includes 19 separate cases involving murder, extortion, robbery, and dacoity filed over the previous nine months.

His activities had prompted multiple law enforcement agencies to seek his capture, with Karnal Police offering 20,000 for information related to a 2025 Arms Act case and Kurukshetra Police adding a 5,000 reward for a similar offense.

Government agencies continue to monitor his recovery as the legal process moves forward in Panchkula.
