CHANDIGARH, India, Dec 15 — Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Monday condemned the firing incident at a kabaddi match in Mohali, saying it reflected a collapse of law and order under the Aam Aadmi Party government.

Reacting to the shooting of kabaddi player Rana Balachauria, Warring said such incidents had become routine across the state.

“This is yet another incident in a regular series of crimes,” Warring said in a statement. “The government machinery has completely collapsed.”

He alleged that the state government had lost control over criminal elements.

“The AAP government has given up and surrendered its authority to criminals and gangsters,” Warring said.

Referring to media reports, Warring said a senior police officer was present at the event.

“If firing can take place at a public sports event, in the presence of the police, it shows the audacity of criminals and gangsters,” he said. “They have no fear of the law.”

Balachauria was critically injured when gunmen opened fire during the tournament in Sector 82 on Monday evening. Police said the attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

A case has been registered, and police are investigating the incident.
