Chandigarh, October 31 — Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Thursday condemned the killing of Kabaddi player Tejpal in Jagraon and urged the state government to strengthen law enforcement to prevent such incidents.

Reacting to the incident, Warring said the daylight attack near the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police in Jagraon reflected the need for more effective policing. “Criminals appear to have no fear of law and act at will,” he said, expressing condolences to the bereaved family.

The Congress leader described the situation as worrying, saying frequent violent incidents were creating an atmosphere of insecurity. He remarked that “law and order must be asserted firmly so that citizens feel safe and protected.”

Warring said that incidents of targeted attacks and gang-related violence needed urgent attention. He called upon the government and police administration to act swiftly and reassure the public through visible law enforcement.

He added that every government’s primary duty was to ensure the safety of life and property and said the state needed stronger preventive measures to restore public confidence.
